Thing is, it ain't my bass so do what YOU want. But if you have to ask and internet forum what to do with your bass, then I suggest you not do. That's because until you have your own sense of style it's even more lame than my knee-jerk reaction originally thought it was.

You could say the same thing to every "what color, pickguard, fingerboard, body wood, hardware ECT should I get" thread that has ever been posted on this forum you know!

Ah, not really. Some of those are asking about things that may or may not alter the sound of the bass (wood, fingerboard, hardware). But I agree totally about any cosmetic-only stuff. Heck, after 30 years of playing and 11 years of selling, fixing, maintaining, and repair instruments, I have serious reservations about fingerboard wood on a fretted base being anything more than cosmetic.

What I meant was like: Quilt Vs Flamed top, Gold Vs Chrome Vs Black, fingerboards to me do matter, but a lot of threads about FBs end up to be about color schemes.
