To those who own 2ohm amps.

Nah, The Sunn doesn't open up until it get a 2ohm load.

The Genz Benz stuff I have that is rated for 2 ohms will operate at 2 ohms all night, no problem. There are some differences in approach for supporting 2 ohm operation. Some manufacturers say their gear is "okay" at 2 ohms, or that occasional 2 ohm use is fine. Genz designs to truly withstand extended 2 ohm operation, in the heads which support 2 ohms.

My Eden WT330 also handled 2 ohm loads just fine, and I've known a lot of folks who run the WT550 at 2 ohms with no problems.

My Carvin B800 runs just fiiiine at 2 ohms. I often run it at 2.67. 3 12's sounds pretty good.

I run my SVT-CL at 2 ohms and I haven't worried a single bit. Sounds great, doesn't run hotter than normal... no worries on my end.

I run a peavey mark IV at 2.67 OHMs every day. Never noticed it getting hot even after 4 hour gigs at half volume.

Get the most power out of an amp (if the amplifier is engineered to handle a 2 ohm load)

In my case:

8 Ohms = 450W.
4 Ohms = 750W.
2 Ohms = 1200W.

I use two wizzys that are 4 ohms each. The advantage is... I can run both. I don't get any more power from the amp but I do get a boost from running two cabs rather than one.

I've run Peavey Mark IV, VI, VIII, FB700s, T-Max, and Combo 300s all at 2 ohms, without ever having a problem...

To me, the advantage of a 2 ohm head is that I own several 4 ohm cabs - that when run by themselves, still give me very good output - yet, I can still run 2 cabs for larger gigs, by having a 2 ohm head...

which sunn is that? my fender mb 1200 is the same as the sunn designed 1200watt ss power section and it also only really opens up into a 2 ohm load
