Tobias Basses are not discussed that much here

So I don't know that much about them, but it seems some are high dollar, while others are cheap.
There have been a couple that crossed my path but I don't know what they're worth.

I can't search on the model because there's no info on the headstock.
Any Idea what it's worth:

I think photo 1
Is a second generation Tobias Growler.
Gibson owned the company or at least the Tobias name. They were made in Arkansas approx 2006-8

The Generation 1 had switchs not 5 control knobs. They were around in the 1990s for sure.

There are Tobias Toby instruments iirc made in Korea early 2000's or late 1990's.

I don't know what model Photo 2 is.

I test drove an exotic 4str T once just because it was rare, stunning, and enormous.
I'll stick with my lil Std. Toby, it's like my custom dream bass.

The reason that Tobias basses aren't talked about much anymore is that Michael sold the Tobias trademark to Gibson, who didn't do as good a job at building basses as Michael and his crew did, and they quietly went away while Michael re-emerged as MTD, and those became what the original Tobias was to bass players instead. But the old Tobias basses made under Michael's watch are still highly prized by those who own them.

But it got to be more than I wanted to pay since I don't know much about them anyway.

IMO i think you would want to try before buy a Tobias Growler

They are a quirky instrument, I like my 4 string Growler but they aren't for everyone.

Tobias is much like SWR, Steinberger, Genz Benz et al... a well-respected brand that quietly went away after being acquired by a bigger corporation.

The more pricey Tobias's are Signature, Classic & Basic, neck thru.
Killer B's are bolt on necks.
Typically 5 knobs & 1 switch & 2 PU's.
The ones built by Mike can sell for $1000 more than the
Gibson era models. I have 2 Gibson era Tobias's which IMHO
are very good quality but I have yet to try one built by Mike's crew.

There is a Gibson era Tobias which has Thunderbird pickups not the usual Bartolinis.
