Tobias Growler, really confused

I have an oppurtunity to buy a older Growler 4-string that has the toggle switches for $325. I've searched on TB for info and it seems to be a good buy if it plays nice, but I'm unsure because everyone seems to have an opinion about them and they all run both ends of the spectrum. Other than issues of something being broken, out of whack, stolen, etc., what else should I look for? I'm going to request the serial number so I can get some info on the particular bass. My thought is to try it, buy it if its decent and sell it later if I don't like it and atleast get my money back out of it. Thoughts?

Unless it has been horribly abused, you cannot go wrong buying a Growler for $325. Even if you don't like it, you can sell it for a profit.
