Todd Kowalski - Propagandhi

Just had a listen through Propagandhi's new album 'Failed States'. Some of the bass playing is ace.

I've always been a fan of Propagandhi so I may be biased towards the music but in terms of bass playing I think this is Todd's best work yet.

Just wanted to vent this around other fellow bass players.

I saw them live in 2008 at fort lauderdale. My friends have opened up for them a couple of times as well. Great tone that suits the band and awesome singer to top it off. Dig his tracks more than Hannah's but his masterpiece is ordinary people do f#@ed things when f#@ed things become ordinary. Try playing it. It baffles my mind.

Interesting that he switched from Music Man Stingray basses to to an Ibanez SR 1500, saying the music man basses break easier. Interesting...

I always liked his Music Man sound on Today;s Empires... and Potemkin City Limits, although his sound on Victory Lap sounds great!

Old thread but had to dig it up. Just relistened to their entire catalogue today and I'd forgotten how good his tone and playing is. Some incredible stuff there.
