Tom Kennedy and Dave Weckl are at the Chesterfield Amphitheater June 1, for $15. I think that is too inexpensive not to go. This is just a little more that 30 minutes from where I live.

I would pay three times that! Their "Live And Very Plugged In" CD is in constant rotation in my car; it just never gets old.

Sounds like it will be a great show. I saw them, along with Jay Oliver about 20 years ago at Weckl clinic.
I am at the concert now. Tom Kennedy is literally playing the best bass I have ever heard. I will post some videos later.
Listening to Tom Kennedy is enough to kill my GAS. He comes out there with his beautiful Fodera Signature and he hits one note and it's forget it, there is no way on earth I would ever sound like that no matter what I played. I will also say that although I sound nothing like Mr. Kennedy, he confirms my recent preference for two humbuckers close together. The mids available in that configuration really do it for me. I will also say the Chesterfield Amphitheater has the best sound system I have ever heard. The bassists before Tom Kennedy with the first band we're great, but Kennedy was at an entirely different level. I have never seen Anthony Jackson play and he might be better at laying down a groove, but I am not sure about that. Kennedy has crazy chops, but his basslines blew me away more than his solos.

That's probably there to keep those fans still harboring fantasies when oldies Rock acts play from trying anything stupid.
Oh well, Dave Weckl had all of my videos taken down. I was actually trying to sell some tickets for them by posting what saw last night, but I understand why he had it done. I still love that show though.

This was a really fun song he played at the concert. Too bad, I cannot share my video because his tone even better live.
This is the same MarkBass cab he had on Wednesday. His tone was incredible. I have never heard better live bass in my entire life.

I cannot speak for someone who has produced commercially valuable content, but as a fan, I think amateur videos of an artists performances only increase interest in seeing the real thing. Weckl and Kennedy are certainly worth the price of admission.
