O.K. if tone chambers improve the tone of a bass and lighten the body, why not just rout the heck out of the back, and put a light cover over it, but doing it in such a way that the body still maintains rigidity and ability hold the neck soundly. Do the benefits taper off after a point, or start resonating and feeding back like a more conventional hollow body? Or maybe fill the cavity with a very light material? Thanks!
