Does anybody tune their bass C(ext.), B, E, A ?? I'm keen to try it out so I get a much sweeter tone up on the higher strings. Primarily for arco but I imagine it can't hurt the pizz sound either. I like the idea of having a fifth between the lowest and second lowest strings and I don't think I'll have too much trouble with it as I play cello and tune my bass guitar CGDA.
Has anyone found there to be a huge tone difference between the low E/C string and the B? I understand each string on the bass will obviously sound different because they are different diameters and such but I was just wondering if anybody found the difference between the lowest and second lowest to be more so than that between the other strings.
