Yea the cool part about it being set by a screw on the back of the body is that once you've got it set right its impossible to accidentally kick a volume knob when your going for a swtich and change the level.

I have used my BassBone in gigging situations, and it does everything I want it to. One channel has three-band EQ, while the other has a switch for three presets. I used Channel 1, the preset one, for classic tone and ballads, then EQ'd Channel 2 for a more modern, aggressive tone. I think it would work well in your situation. It's a first-rate piece of kit.
