Tony Franklin tone vs P

When I first got the Tony Franklin fretless, I put flats on it like is on my G&L LB100. Once I get comfortable playing the fretless, I did a number A/B tests between the TF and the LB100. To my surprise, I found the TF to have better overall tone, rounder and fatter. Both are awesome, but the TF is simply awesome. BTW, going in I would have thought I would like the LB100 better.

I've got one of each as well, and each time I play one I think it's the best until I next play the other. Very tough to choose!

The J pickup blends very well with the P pickup on the TF, they are great sounding basses.

The Franklin pickups are pretty tough to beat, they almost changed my thoughts on P/Js.

I always liked PJ's anyway, but I almost want to replace the pickups in my Elite P with a set like the Tony Franklin. I was blown away when I plugged it in and heard it for the first time.

Well, the bridge pickup might be since it's made by DiMarzio, but I don't think you can buy the split pickup.
