But i cant justify spending that kind of money(900.00-1200.00$)on a AMERICAN bass when i've went to every music store in my area and played countless US. made basses when just about all of them had fluxuating quality control.

I've worked at Sam Ash for about 2 years or so. Whenever I opened up a new USA Fender, 99.9% of the time the bass was great, as expected for a USA bass. But you look at the basses that have been hanging up on the wall in an uncontrolled enviornment for a year or so, the bass starts to look like kaka. Fret ends stick out, string are a year old, a years worth of dust, dirt, sweat form people trying them out, missing parts, etc. Play one out of the box. I think you might change your mind.

Do I think that a USA Fneder is worth about a grand, No. I'd rather have my Crafted in Japan Geddy Lee Jazz

Now back to the japan's,i've played all types of models.....and for the most part all the basses being sold as "new" basses were all consistantly equal in quality,and all the used basses(my 87 p/j bass included)were similar in quality.

I agree. It seems that the Japanese workers are better builders than their USA counterparts.

i agree with the japanese workers and their work ethic,maybe i've never gotton to play a fender out of the box but if it cant handle being hung on a wall for a few months how can it handle giging and practicing on a daily basis?i must admit i played FENDER CORONA that was a sweet bass BUT it still did'nt surpass the GEDDY LEE model.and it was a 1200.00 $ bass we are talking about it should of put that bass out to pasture. thats exactely what my gripe is,it takes a 1200.00 $ fender custom bass to equal a mid level japanese model THATS ALL I'M TRYING TO GET ACROSS.Nino i know you own one of those basses and i bet you would agree with me,Do you think the G.Lee model is 600.00 less of a bass than a US made bass???? BE HONEST NOW

thanks to all who contributed and would like to say that this post went on longer than i would of liked to,so thanks again. i'll stick w/ my japanese fenders those who prefer more expensive basses please enjoy those and finally to all those people who had the unfortunate pleasure oF being subjected to this loathsome prattle I HUMBLE APPOLOGIZE.
