I've got a Jazz and a Precision, both recent '62 reissues. Great basses, light, nice to play, great looks and sound. I also have a 1975 P that's been through the wars, neck shaved to 1.5" at the nut with an amateur re-fin, a glued crack, etc. I stuck a Curtis Novak pickup in it and it sounds great and plays really nicely, but it's heavy and ugly (IMO, natural/maple).
The '75 has sentimental value, a gift from a friend who passed away, but I never play it, I'm no longer a working musician, and I could use cash.
In my shoes, would you keep the '75 or sell it?
Having a hard time deciding.
TIA,
Gus
