Too many basses? Ditch a '75 P?

Thanks, everyone. I'm going to get selling it out of my head for now.

I don't think I feel really sentimental about objects. I sold the sax I grew up playing. I'd love to have a sax again, but not that one. I'm giving away an Ibanez Musician that was the only bass I had from 1983 to 2007. I played it in a lot of clubs and on some records and drove around the country with it a few times, but I never do anything with it now and it's in horrible shape (and REALLY heavy), so I'm giving it to a guy who's a big fan of one of my old bands.

But the 1975 P is a different story. I might sell it some day, but for now I think the verdict that I'm not ready is right on the money.

Thanks again.

You could always loan it to me for awhile. I guarantee you it will get played.

In all earnestness. Keep that '75. Its actually my dream bass. I was born in '75 and have wanted a nat/maple or oly white/maple for some time. That one is a heater.

A buddy of mine passed away a few years ago and left me a 1971 Les Paul Custom...I play bass first and guitar second, I almost never touch the LP, but I will never part with it. There is something to be said for an instrument that was left to you by a deceased friend (or relative). You can NEVER replace it, it doesn't matter if you buy one identical, it will never replace the gesture or memory.

Good call on not selling it
