Too many tone pots?

Would it be a bad idea to have a bass and treble tone pot for each pickup in a two pickup setup? What would the side effects be, if any?

For bass-cut you can have one per pickup & since they're in series it works well.
For a treble-cut, those operate in parallel & are more global, affecting the output of both pickups.
