How many gigs have you actually played during that time?

Both bands were originals bands and we struggled with gigs like most originals bands.

On average 1 gig a month, so a little more than 24. Probably more like 35.

It's the reason I will never play with an originals band again.

I am confident I will be gigging every weekend with the new band.

Sure he is, some the younger guys are just shy about that sort of thing.

He's been reading my threads for years and I can't express how much I appreciate that.

With 45 years of experience you already should know what to do! It's simple, add another cab and angle it towards the drummer. Seems like a lot of people try to get away with a light combo rig for rehearsal, but if your band is loud it's not going work.

If I was a betting man, I would bet that we'll being reading a thread in a month or so about how the band you're currently in right now didn't work out!

From what I have read from your past postings,

Don't worry, it will work out. They are all good people and have been extremely helpful getting me up to speed.

By the way, my past 2 bands were great. They were originals bands and both lasted a year which is not bad for originals bands.

Both bands broke up for good reason, mostly lack of consistent paying gigs.

Bluewine = Drama!

bluewine= tough but reasonable guy.

Average bass player, not the best but far from the worse. I can hold my own at the bar/ club circuit level.

I have been playing a number of years and been in a bunch of bands and NEVER had a "problem" like this. This should take 20 minutes at the beginning of a rehearsal moving stuff around until eveyone can hear everyone. I don't see what the big deal is.

From your join date until sometime late last year, you jumped from audition to audition, never staying in any situation for more that a few weeks. Then you joined the originals band with the goofy name, and played two gigs before it fell apart. Then, you found this band, with which you have yet to gig.

Its hard to keep up with your stories, Russ, but the lack of gigs has never been a secret. If you're going to monopolize this forum and give us every little detail, then you'd best keep track of what you post.

Hi Guy,

You know more about me than I do. But, I am flattered that you always take an interest in my threads.

Obviously I remember things differently than you.

I really enjoy playing, working and performing with all types of musicians, and BTW I have no plans on stopping.

I had a blast playing with the last 2 bands. Neither band was perfect, however I learned a lot from both bands. Now I'm starting a new chapter with the new band and it feels good already.

You should get out and do a few auditions and get back in the game,I guarantee you will not regret it.
