Top 3 recorded bass tones

A lot of my favorites have already been named: McCartney, Levin, Entwistle, Pino..

How about:

Joe Osborne - Any Carpenters album
Dennis Dunaway - School's Out or Killer albums
and of course Mel Schacher's famous distorted tone!

Lots of love for eddie jackson in this thread! Yeah he has the lh1000 setup now. The bass that sticks out for me was his white ns2 spector.

I suspected he was a Spector guy. I knew that was a GK sound , so today at rehearsal I fiddled around with a GK 400rb and used my old charvel 3B and I was able to replicate his tone pretty accurately . Scoop the mods and crank the boost knob up to 3:00. Crank everything wide open on the bass and voila! Instant Eddie Jackson tone.

1. Eddie Jackson on jet city woman
2. Chris Squire on close to the edge.
3. Geddy on farewell to kings

+1 or should I say +3 ..... I like all of these tones as well!

Im surprised Dug Pinnick hasn't been named yet. Check out Kings X!
Lots of cool tones by Dug!
