I love live albums. To me, they are the true test of a band's worth.

AND just in case anyone missed it, I'll say it again - "Made in Europe" by Deep Purple. The very best live album by anyone, ever.

Really? I must confess that I've never heard it because I've never been a fan of David Coverdale (in spite of the fact that "Burn" is one of my all-time favorite DP songs). Besides, Blackmore's guitar work and Gillan's vocals on "Made in Japan" are so powerful that I've been convinced that any other live album from Deep Purple (without a symphony orchestra aboard, at least) would be overshadowed by "MiJ".

Nat King Cole - Live at the Sands Casino
Zawinul Syndicate - World Tour '97 (Victor Bailey and Richard Bona) Paco Sery's mbira plaing on this disc is MIND BLOWING!
James Brown - Love Peace Power
James Brown - Live at the Apollo Vol. 2 (1967) (Deluxe Edition)
Ahmad Jamal Live at the Pershing
Sun Ra - Music of Tomorrow's World; Live at the Wonder Inn 1960
King Curtis - Live at The Fillmore (this was the opening set of the Aretha album- that must have been some show!):)

So there's a couple of extras! I could go on...

That Zawinul album deserves wider recognition...

I love a lot of what's been mentioned...adding something new, the Jamiroquai show "Live at Intel Scala" from 2007 is a great show although never , to my knowldge, put on DVD.

You can watch it for free over the internet. Just google it

Not really an album per se, but I think it's a must watch.
