I dig a lot of 90s hip hop, I grew up on that stuff.

Why?

Mostly 'cause it's in French. To my ear, Le Langue just doesn't sound tough enough for rap.

To be fair, my opinion is based on late '90s French rap which made me giggle. It may have gotten better since then, but I wouldn't now.

Huh? 2Pac isn't old school...or maybe he is, and I'm just old now. But I dug a lot of his contemporaries more than I did him. I still think he got a lot more run as a rapper than he should have; a lot of that, of course, has to do with him being a "martyr," of sorts. I got all of his stuff and tried to get into it like everyone else...but there was never a whole lot of creativity there for me

lulz, the old school reference is actually a line from a 2Pac song where 2Pac is referencing the old(er) school (Furious 5, Melle Mel, Sugar Hill Gang, et. al.).

I don't know that I would put 2Pac in my top 5 either, but he made some good music.
