I really didn't think Snowcrash was all that great and influential, though I did enjoy it as a work of fiction.

I didn't ask anybody to debate or invalidate other people's choices. I asked for books that you found influential. Guess which book I found to be influential to me? You don't know how it was influential, or by how much it was to me, but that really isn't the point here.

I wasn't insinuating that the book itself lacked literary merit, my judgment was preceded by "I really didn't think", meaning that I was simply delivering my own personal opinion of the book. I said that is wasn't influential to me, not that it shouldn't have been influential to you.
