Top Five Covers

I am so glad that my band does all originals unless we feel like goofing around and playing something ironic.

I don't mean to act superior to the cover bands, I just much prefer to play something that I can put my own heart and soul into.

If your impression of cover bands is of people not putting their own heart and soul into it, maybe you just haven't seen a good cover band. :)

Hmmm...5 songs that always get people dancing in no order at all:

Shakedown Street
Martyr
RESPECT
Son of a Preacher Man
American Girl

Duel of the Fates - John Williams. Great to open with and seque into a song in E minor, especially something heavy.

Sexyback - Justin Timberlake. Have you ever seen an entire club rush for the dance floor at the same time? Try it.

No One Knows - Queens of the Stone Age. I have no idea why, but it seems like everyone loves this song. Plus, bass solo. :D

When Doves Cry - Prince. Really hard to pull off, but totally worth it when everyone starts screaming as soon as the piano kicks in.

Crazy - Gnarls Barkley. WOW. Dun. Dun. Dun. Dun. Suddenly the whole venue is bouncing.

My top five songs of interesting bass lines and people getting crazy hearing it;

1- Le freak - Chic

2- We are family - Pointer Sisters

3- Sir Duke - Stevie Wonder

4- Sledge Hammer - Peter Gabriel

5- Good Times - Chic

Hmmm..Ok lets see:

1. Purple Rain - Prince
2. Gimme Shelter - Stones
3. Jesus is just alright with me - Doobies
4. Lights/don't stop believin' - Journey
5. Can't find my way back home - Blind Faith

Give It Away- Red Hot Chili Peppers (We normally extend the hell out of it too)
Stuck In The Middle With You- Stealers Wheel (Never fails to get them up)
Tainted Love- Soft Cell( We do a rock version like The Living End and normally the place erupts)
Sunny Afternoon- The Kinks (Just a good singalong feelgood song)
Crazy- Gnarls Barkley (Complete with a reggae breakdown)

Rebel Yell, Billy Idol
I want you to want me, Cheap Trick
Livin' after midnight, Judas Priest
Long way to the top AC/DC
Ballroom Blitz The Sweet........Always a great closer!
