Top Five Favorite Basslines

In no particular order:
Jamerson's line on The Four Tops: Bernadette
Jamerson's line on the Jackson Five: Darling Dear
The Who: The Real Me
Abraham Laboriel - virtually everything - no particular pick
Portrait of Tracy

To the community: if you haven't heard these two Jamerson lines, strap on headphones and listen. It's SO worth doing.

Another One Bites The Dust (John Deacon) usually gets a lot of mentions in these type of polls. If you like that line OK, BUT...

Deacon was hanging around the studio with Bernard Edwards and Chic who had just recorded Good Times when he came up with the bassline to AOBTD....Guess where he lifted err picked up that line from??? Hopefully "originality" isn't one of your criteria if you pick that one.

Driven- Geddy. Once again, a great part of a great, dynamic song.
Red Barchetta- Geddy- Really dynamic, and so, so cool intro.
Paradise City- Duff McKagan. Really cool, supportive line with a tight pocket.
She Builds Quick Machines- Duff McKagan. Once again, tight pocket and supportive line.
Outcry- John Myung. One of the best examples of counterpoint I've heard in a long time.
