In its special issue "The 100 Greatest Bass Players" in 2017, Bass Player magazine ranked Jamerson number one and the most influential bass guitarist. In 2020, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Jamerson number one in its list of the 50 greatest bassists of all time.

This has got to be some pecularity of bass and guitar players. I can't imagine that sax players are spending time putting together lists of the best Yamaha YTS players.

Yeah, he bought the Streamer right when he left home to join Jamiroquai, but he has mentioned using P's, Rays, and the Warwick's on all the original albums. I just couldn't tell you what's what.
