Torn between La Bella 760 FS or FL.

I use the FS (45-105) set because after trying both the next gauge lower (43-104) and the next one higher (49-109) I decided the 43 was too floppy and the 109 too thuddy. I found my happy medium with the 45-105 (I try not using the "F" designations because I find it confusing to remember and it's just easier for me to know the gauge...I wind up recommending the wrong set to fellow TB'ers). I think the 45-105 DTF (FS) is probably the best damn flat out there with regards to tension, balance, output and consistency. I used to use TI's and GHS P flats exclusively and find them to be the perfect balance. Plus, I've never once gotten a bad string from them. When it comes to the feel (tightness) I find them to have more flex than GHS of same gauge and WAY more flex than Dadarrio, which I like.

I have started buying mine from a dealer in Chicago because there seems to be supply issues every time I try to get them from BSO. The last three times I tried to order, they didn't have them and each inquiry was at least weeks apart:(

This! Agree with everything. I used to love TIs, but last few years I've come to realize I prefer higher tension. After much testing, I now have LaBella 760FS (45-105), Sadowsky SBF45 (45-105) and TIs on my three basses. The TIs stand a good chance of getting replaced by a set I have lying around of LaBella 760FM (49-109). It just feels and sounds right to me.

Regarding BSOL, they have live inventory now, of almost all strings I think, but I think LaBellas and Sadowsky strings need to be inquired about first. On the plus side, the prices are great, and the customer service too. They have had Sadowskys and LaBellas in stock the last times I've asked them.
