I apologize for not reading the previous 48 pages. I'm heading to Toronto for a long weekend in a couple of weeks. Suggestions for music stores (basses of course) are quite welcome. No need for any generic GCs and other global chains. Food suggestions for nice pubs, burger joints, etc. (I'm staying downtown, so walking distance or cab ride preferred, but not critical.)

Don't forget the Markham branch of Long & McQuade, and say hi to Jason for me.

They are allowed a lot of latitude with special orders, and there's always something interesting in there, like Smith, Fodera, and Dingwall (not just the Combusitions, but Z's, Super P's and J's, ABZ's, etc.). Amps, too.

They get a lot of interesting trade-ins, as well.

The first time I went there, I got to noodle on a brand-new Victor Wooten signature Yin-Yang 4-string. Not exactly your average big box store...

Just bumping this up. Don't think we ever pulled off a GTG but would like to do it again some time. My playing is non-existent lately. I'm looking to move my big tower Ampeg / Mesa rig in favor of the little set-up that was at the last GTG. MB Fusion 800 with a single speaker under it. Tried it, liked it. Now want to compare the sound once more before I start doing crazy things.

Anybody interested and more importantly could anyone bring that rig set up if we do it?

This has to be the longest "geez, we really ought to get together again sometime" thread in history!

Maybe we should try for smaller gatherings of just 3 or 4 guys at someone's house, instead of trying to get all our schedules to coincide?

On those last couple of comments about my MBF/AK rig- i've come to realize that it's mostly about Duke LeJeune's cabs.

At this point, I've driven my 1st-gen Thunderchild with everything from underpowered cheap SS crap to highly-coloured hybrids, exotic boutique stuff and overpowered SS rack gear. It makes everything sound great, and the only thing likely to beat it is another Audiokinesis cab, like Duke's sweet little Hathor 1203's, the monstrous Thunderchild 212, the genre-busting Hathor 1855 (a 1,000 watt single 18 cab with cone midrange drivers and no tweeter, that sounds great with electric violin as well as EB!)...

The guy is a freak, in the best way possible.

Steve, I have hosted a couple of smaller gtg at m house here in Scarborough... we could do that again if need be. I think we had about three of four guys here and that worked out pretty good.

Can anyone recommend an Electronics Tech for a bass with a grounding/hum problem please?
