So far so good. I’m out of work but my wife has a grown up job and is working from home so we’re doing ok. This is going to take a while to get sorted. Lots of lessons to be learned. With any luck and perseverance, we will come out the other side on the road to a better future.

Been a risky month for sure...I've been doing lots of work FOR the frontliners, helping to keep them safe from flying saliva particles.
That has slowed down this week...so I think next week will be a three day week possibly...who knows. I feel the same as @Lowendtech ...I think this is an eye opener for things to come and I hope the gvrnmt will learn from it as well as people in general.
Hope all is well for you guys (and gals)...keep your family safe and be alert to HOW germs like this one are being transferred. There's a good blurb on here under Sanitizing basses coming inbound.

It's not looking good for us over here insofar as making money, since music is my households main income source. I really dunno what we're gonna do going forward. Might sell my car, if there's even a market for used cars these days.

The rumours of businesses opening soon, are sounding more and more realistic. I think they're playing the card where the summer heat will halt a large majority of the virus cases...but I wouldn't be so surprised if this becomes the norm for flu season, and every year or every few years an outbreak happens...by then meds SHOULD be avail for it...I'm scared of doing a vaccine tbh...but I am a family of four asthmatics....so...might not have a choice.

I think part of the learning curve of this, is also having a 'plan B', or some savings in the bank. Lifestyles will be changing for many...it's scary, it's sad and it's the new wave of illnesses and life. We are living through History right now...our kids and grandkids etc will be talking about the pandemic of 2020. This is the first one...so it was a rough start...now, we know the routine so the next ones following this, won't be strung along before the 'stay home' thing happens.

Just be extra careful and cautious....help those who need the help as best you can. It doesn't hurt to smile at people too...everyone is scared.

Hey. Doing ok here. Working from home... works fine for me and my team (software engineering.) Family is doing ok, both kids (19 and 17) are home. 17 year old finishing up grade 12 with some online stuff.

Staying generally sane, lots of music practice (guitar and bass), lots of walks. Taking a "Developing your musicianship" course on coursera which is interesting.

Hey Steve, sorry to hear that. My 2019 was mostly miserable on a personal level and I was really looking forward to 2020 being a better year overall. Well that is gone. Had some pretty dark days myself too. But finding a way to keep my self going. Working out lots. My business is closed right now but might reopen next week though we still need to find enough work somewhere to keep the people working.

Hey guys, glad to see everyone checking in! Kinda feel like a hamster running a wheel as of late. Haven't picked up my bass since our last gig on March 6th! New drummer did very well, which made the rest of us have way more fun playing, then in the past.

I had an inexplicable and unbidden ear worm to teach myself the bass line to Silly Love Songs by Macca. My wife loves the song and now I can’t get it out of my head.

I love that bass line...I think it is the first time I listened to his bass playing...on the radio at work 3 or 4 years ago.....and started to develop a great respect for him as a bass player....Wow!


Maybe I will make that a learning project for myself...played with a pick I assume?

I’ve been using my fingers. When I get the syncopation down tighter I’ll try it with a pick. It’s a great bass line and is a bit deceptive. When I play with the song, it feels very natural. When I play solo it feels a bit stiff.

Hey, gang.

Just checking in.

I'm OK financially, as my business is veterinary-related, and they have been considered an essential service throughout.

My music situation is getting pretty depressing, though. Haven't had a regular gig in a dog's age, and my church-related work has gone down the drain altogether:

• All our conferences and other away gigs have been cancelled.
• My church is holding services again, but I have a son with severe immune deficencies, and most of the congregation isn't masked up.
• I would go by myself, but he's been in and out of hospital with lingering non-COVID lung infections since February, so I can't risk bringing anything home- not even a common cold or influenza.

Steve Clark, a London local who tours and teaches, recently started training to become a bicycle mechanic. From what's been happening with his bookings, he doesn't see 2021 getting a lot better, and he can't afford to simply sit around waiting for work.
