Toshiya from Dir en grey

Lately I've been listening and watching a lot of videos by Dir en grey (Studio videos, live, etc) and man this guy can play. I used to think he just basically filled the rhythm parts in the song, man was I wrong. Very underrated bass player in my opinion. Anyone else appreciate his bass work?

the only dir en grey song i really know is 'obscure'...but after listening to 'kodou' i can see what you mean, its not something i'd expect. haha good luck with getting a lot of responses to this one...

I know all about dir en grey. Seen them live, got the cds, ect. He is pretty good and a very underrated bass player, but that's typical for most bands like that. Most Dir en grey fans appreciate him the most, he is the only one with talent in that band. lol.

Saw them live a couple years ago, and he didn't strike me as anything out of the ordinary at the time.

Well, as most Japanese rock bassist, he is quite melodic and has nice lines

I've only seen videos, and I hardly noticed the bass. I did however see their singer rip up the inside of his mouth and dribble blood everywhere.
