Tossing out old technology

Actually I have a set of Windows 3.11 installation floppies, and my "magic" bootdisk from back in the day when I was a net admin. Maybe will sell them to a museum someday.
I'm sure I have a floppy somewhere of that app where you had a stripper that danced at the bottom of your desktop... memories....
I remember in 2000 or 2001 my bandmates and I were sooo excited by the fact that we had a 128 kb mp3 of ours streaming on our .tk website!
Meanwhile, 50 year old basses still work and held their value.

By video game standards a N64 is outdated, however graphi wise there pretty good for being around 15 years old. I will always have a N64, may favorite system by far, i even have my original box.
With those VHS tapes, bring them to your local pawn shop and see if they'll take them. I know a friend of mine went nostalgic and bought $160 worth of Disney movies on VHS at a pawn shop here.

It still works, too! I never use it anymore, though.I threw out all my floppy disks about two years ago. None of my machines use them anymore.
The local news said Ford plans to eliminate CD players from all their vehicles. They're calling them obsolete technology.

I am logged in right now on a year 2001 laptop with a whopping 256MB of RAM. With the lightweight LINUX distro (puppy) that I installed today this thing is a rocket ship compared to my windows laptop that has a more powerful processor and 1.5GB of RAM.
I may not be able to run a lot of simultaneous apps or process mega sized files but this older computer is surprisingly useful.
BTW, I can remember having to have back surgery from trying to move one of my old UNIX boxes out to the curb. Thing must have weighed over 60 pounds and the monitor was even heavier.
Before I lost all my stuff, I was saving a brand new shrink wrapped box of 8" hard sector floppies. Figured I would give them to my sister's grandkids for show & tell some day.

I'm a horrible hoarder when it comes to.. well.. everything. But especially electronics. I have almost every computer I have ever owned, as well as every games console, every video game, monitors, floppy disks, CDs, spare disk drives and other components, as well as a good cubic metre or two of (mostly useless/broken/outdated) cables sitting in my cupboard.

You could have sent them to me. I still have 2 working VCRs in my house, and together, my fiancee and I have a more than decent sized VHS collection.
