Did some research on TB as I wanted at 45 years old to expand
my bass playing to Double Bass......
I have no expertise on this side of things but have owned most
of the highest end electrics on the market and worked for a while
in a highly regarded luthiers shop. All this being said I took
the plunge and picked up a Thompson Plywood Bass from Steve
at String Emporium. The bass arrived airfreight in flawless condition
still in tune! The oil varnish finish looks great and the setup and tone
are lovely. Does this bass sound like a high dollar hand carved
Bass? No.......
It is a very useable high quality instrument that I am proud to add
to my stable of 7 other instruments in the studio. It speaks well,
has a nice growl and bloom and feels more expensive than it is.
Now I just need to learn to play the damn thing!

Cheers,

Michael

I have a grammy winning badass player 2 miles from me I think
I can talk in to teaching me! Been a studio guy on electric since the eighties but playing this thing makes me feel like a baby!
