Hey everyone,
Wondering what the minimum acceptace for truss rod length might be in reagards to nut and heel. As in, from heel to 1st or 2ed fret? entire distance?
I have a 34.5 inch 6 string bass getting built. With current rods in my shop I can get a heel spoke wheel adjustment and the rod up to about half way between the second and third fret. I compensate this with 2 thick carbon fiber rods on each side that go up to about 5mm before the nut.
Is there a discussion about this someone can link me to? Will this essentially guarantee a bad neck down the line or will the carbon fiber prevent that?
Should I order a custom rod to let it ride to the nut?
And finally, should I simple invest in making my own rods to avoid any issues like this down the line?
Last idea, can I just extend the truss rod cavity and add in a section of carbon fiber?
