Two from the last weekend of October, we went on a short train ride that starts in Newport, Washington, and heads north along the Pend Oreille River. It was a fun but chilly trip. The engine has the logo for the company I work for in Spokane, Hotstart makes engine heaters for trucks, trains, marine, and so forth:
Next up, taking the ATV and UTV for a spin in the mountains. These were taken about 3 weekends ago:
This one was taken last weekend, we encountered snow, ice, and mud most of the way up. I believe this is right near the peak of Spruce Mountain:

Over some rivers and through many woods we traveled today to north central WA >

We briefly paused just past the tiny blink-and-you'll-miss-it town of Oso, where this nation's most destructive mudslide happened in 2014, killing 43 people and destroying 49 homes and other structures. You can wee where a lot of the mountain in the 3rd photo detached and just rumbled down into the rural hamlet like an avalanche. Some planted trees, a commemorative marker, and a few makeshift memorials now occupy the spot >
Nope not yet, but probably will be closing till Spring real soon.
We're supposed to head back to Seattle tomorrow but the forecast is calling for several inches here in the Methow Valley. Might be taking the Blewitt/Snoqualmie route back... if we don't get stuck here.
Oh well, they have a hot tub and lots of food
