Wife, my pup, and friends cruised the waters around Redondo Beach today on the Zodiac RIB. Ten minutes after this photo a large cell moved in and we all got drenched by a monsoon type downpour. It felt good as we are in a major heat wave out here.

The sun is looking rather rad this morning as I took my GF to school (secretary, not student .) The photo doesn't really do it justice, but to the naked eye it's all red from the fires raging in the Cascade Mtns not too far to the east.) There's even a thin layer of ash on all cars parked outdoors. I don't think I've ever seen that here in Seattle.
