As soon as I saw that picture I thought of jackhammering! 5 years? Yikes, what's taking so long? Are they getting paid by the hour or the job??

Pffft , that's a biggun but we get small city size domiciles like that bottomed with businesses (& with about 25% unit parking availability underneath) springing up here inside of a year! Smaller ones change the skyline of some neighbourhoods even faster, I notice as I drive thru every handful of weeks thinking 'Hey, that wasn't there last time!'

Exactly...because the quicker they are built..the quicker they are all sold and the next built....It makes no sense here...They must have been paid up front or something...or just milking it....Truth is the whole building should have just been torn down and a new one built in a year

......same when you get contractors working on your house....You have to hold a fire under their butts

While I was waiting to get paid, I took a few architecture / under-construction snaps The building must be on some sort of historic register, because they didn't completely knock it down to build from scratch, but had to keep the existing bottom facade >

As I meandered by the banks of windows, it's hard to not notice the old vs new Seattle ... All of the buildings visible on Pine St that are higher than 3 stories were not here 5-7 years ago they build em and fill em quick! >

Actually the ball was a squeezy stress-reliever foam replica of the Earth. It was interesting to see which countries the dog was keenest to erase from the map. Southeast Asia took a battering.

I just want to take a walk with you around my town sometime. You seem to notice things around you most miss. That's a gift my friend. I seem to be good at it with nature, but not so much the beauty in man made things around me.
