The fires in Southern California have been making for some interesting sunsets.

From the Huntington Harbor/PCH overpass, looking towards Palos Verdes.

We literally dodged a bullet. The fireline is 20 feet from the gargoyle. The gargoyle is 20 feet from my house. Our house is undamaged.
2 of our 3 closest neighbors' homes burned to the ground. About 1/3 of the neighborhood overall, perhaps more - I haven't gone all the way to the end of the road.
We are extremely fortunate and may be able to return home by the end of next week or the following.

This is what remains of our nearest neighbor's home.
