We literally dodged a bullet. The fireline is 20 feet from the gargoyle. The gargoyle is 20 feet from my house. Our house is undamaged.
2 of our 3 closest neighbors' homes burned to the ground. About 1/3 of the neighborhood overall, perhaps more - I haven't gone all the way to the end of the road.
We are extremely fortunate and may be able to return home by the end of next week or the following.

Among a group of retired, semi-retired, and laid-off, one of the boys declared, "We aren't getting any younger, we all currently have the time, these beautiful roads are in our backyard, so we need to start riding."

We now get together once a week.
