Up in northwest Minnesota the ice on the rivers is going out. Minor flooding by my good buddies house
When the river is rolling along it is quite a sight. Like a 3 mph glacier! This was taken the evening before last. A bit lower than the previous pic.

Spent the afternoon sitting granddaughter. She has the most energy of any kid I’ve ever seen, and my wife has run preschool daycare for 34 years. Non stop full attention with very little physical downtime, she ran 2 of us ragged.
She tolerated the buggy for the trip to the park. I was too embarrassed to have my picture taken in it coming home.
Sold us sand! I wanted ice cream! Well, we got fair trade, she got sticks.
We had to weigh her down with a 35lb backpack the last 2 hours

Aside from the empty beaches, Daufuskie Island has some 300+ year old live oak trees.

The island is pretty privative. There are some paved roads but much of the 5x3 mile island in dirt roads. Only 400 full time residents and you have to ride a fairy over to get there.
I bet you ride a ferry, but I wasn't there, of course.
