At the Museaum at Alameda. The powder kegs used to fire the projectile.

One projectile can penetrate 30 feet of concrete and create a crater 50 feet wide and 20 feet deep.
Weight of projectile: From 1,900 to over 2,700 lbs depending on type of projectile ("Armor Piercing", "High Capacity", "Target Practice", etc).

16-inch/50 Caliber gun Maximum Range: 41,622 yards at 2,690 feet per second.

Interesting story about Frank Whittle. When he first went to the British government with his idea and requested funding for further development, they did not want to hear of it. Only later when the Brits got wind that the Germans were developing their own jet engine, did Frank get the funding. The rest of the story changed aviation history.

This is what I believe to be a small aircraft hanger at Radford aerodrome Coventry it was used during the First World War it is now industrial units and a sports field

Very true there is some information about him at the Coventry transport museum which is worth a visit
