I'm seriously considering getting a dedicated camera because of this. Any time there's a really good sight in the night sky, I know my cell phone camera won't properly capture it, and I'd rather not upgrade to a top-of-the-line iPhone/Galaxy/Pixel just for better night pics.

I do have a old Nikon bridge camera i will try and see if i can get a better result :)

I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do with this, but I've got a double macro time-lapse set up for the day.

I remember seeing a making of The Matrix thing where they showed them using dozens of video cameras rigged in an arc to get those freeze-frame anti-gravity shots. Now, what that has to do with two cameras and a cactus? No idea. I just feel like there is something there.
