I didn't realize how profound this is. One bird like the others but on the lower cable, but one different bird at the end on the upper cable. Is he there by choice? Do they relegate him to the edge? What is truth? Where are we? Who are we?
Well, for starters, birds aren't real, so there's that.

A little over a year ago, in December 2023, the night before going home for the holidays I pulled this Epiphone dreadnought out of a dumpster and couldn't recover the headstock, so I've been building one out of some wood I tore off of a pallet. I've been learning and re-learning a lot of how to do exactly this kind of thing, but it holds up under its own weight.
I think it's starting to look like something. Now I'm not sure if I want to repaint it in white (it's more my colour, oddly) or if I want to take off all of that poly and just put linseed oil or pine tar on it, and wear that sloppy joinery on the neck as a badge of honour. If anybody really cares about this detail, but I haven't used any power tools on this project - it's a self-imposed limitation.
I think with my ability, this is as close as I'm going to get to perfection, I'll call it a break tonight and either start sanding the paint off tomorrow or glue/JB weld the headstock on tomorrow.
