Totally amateur recordings thread

IMG_8124 800x450.jpg

ok to 1994. The monday night football game, some beers during halftime and these three amateurs start wailing out. The guy is making it up! He's singing about the hardships on the nightshift at consolidated freightways loading dock! Then he starts in on the tenor sax guy's production manager job. He then turns to the piano player who has no job. Some suggestions were made.
I got it... it's so bad it is good. Got it all with the three mic inputs you have available on those realistic mixing consoles.

I am going to put this up for all to hear. But it will not be available to listen to for an extended period. My sound cloud free page is maxed out and I have to put stuff up and pull it down in order to shuffle songs through.

Anyway, Here is a recording we did back in 1977. It was good times. Had the multi track reel to reel and the drums set up in the apartment for about 2 weeks.

If you go to the sound cloud page you can witness one other track from these sessions called rocking instr.

I like the ambient compressed drum sound, and the keys sound nice too.

Hi guys.

First attempt at recording a song that I took by ear for the first time. I only have 2 lessons...
Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Portuguese band formed in 1978, celebrates 45 years this year :D

DAW: Reaper
Effects: Reaper EQ, Compressor

PS: I apologize for the mistakes... I'm still a noob

That's some really nice, upbeat '80s-style rock!

tried a lead melody part over my recent riff, looper style but looped in Audacity not the pedal. Almost same diff.

stylistically, I'd say it's introspective shoegaze, feels like that to me...

More on my Schecter fretless rehab. Faster riff. Finished the control cavity cover so this is celebrating another step of "done" (only left is shielding paint on the inside of the cover).

"One day, in 1967, I was in my room, tripping on some really pure LSD. I started looking at myself in the mirror and my face was doing funny things. I had a bunch of colored markers I used to draw with. I grabbed a green one and started drawing all these psychedelic designs on my face. When I was done, I looked at myself and said 'Whoa! I am ultimate spinach. Ultimate spinach is me!'"
That is how the band got named! and their first album was released on jan 6th 1968.

Even though the band ultimate spinach is said to be a top notch classic psychedelic rock album, its always been obscure around my world. But I did buy the album at tower records back in 68...
OK, flash forward to my "band thing"... We used to do songs that were either original or obscure.
Google the original and listen to that... We take songs and put our flare on them...

And this is a typical weekly rendition by sycamore haze.

My latest Dm arpeggio-based noodling, meant as a backing track for playing over - but it does chew up a lot of range, goes quite high for bass. But that's where it sounded like it should go, I'm just following it, don't blame me.... lol....

Got together for a little jam session last night. I haven’t picked up my bass in around 6 months, it was a little bumpy at first with a few clams - mostly by me, but we were really swinging by the end and it was fun and pretty magical. 100% improvised and made up on the spot. 2nd time we’ve all played together.
4 piece- bass, drums, keys guitar.
