Touchy Rickenbacker toggle switch

I have a 4003w and I notice that the toggle switch is super sensitive, just the slightest bump of it switches the modes. I think when I’m playing hard it it is actually switching itself in and out of the neck only (or bridge only) mode and causing a crackly/staticky sound. Has anyone had this problem? Is there a better switch that can be allow a little more movement before it engages to either bridge or neck pickup only mode.

If this is just a standard DPDT switch I’m sure I can find one, but if anyone has any specific high quality switch they have used I’d love to know about it. Personally I’d like a more solid feeling switch, the stock one is super soft/loose feeling.

It is basically the Switchcraft right-angled switch used in Jazzmasters and Gibson Explorers. The only difference is that the threaded shaft is longer and narrower to accommodate the RIC switch batton.

No need to replace it, just need to adjust the tangs with needle nose (Nilepka) pliers.

I might also suggest that the grey wire that runs through the channel to the neck pickup is getting tangled up with the switch. I have a new to me 2016 4003s and I thought the switch was defective. It was twitchy for a while and then would only work on the bridge pickup. I took it apart to change out the switch a noticed the grey wire sitting in the middle of the switch. I secured wire to the back of the pickguard with double stick tape and have had no problems since.
