Tough Socks For Pedal Stomping?

What about Adidas Sambas or some other low-profile-sole shoe? They're thinner, don't resemble human feet, and light weight.

BTW, why would those shoes have fingers? They should have toes.

I've had a few thin-soled shoes, and you don't get the same sensitivity of feel/flexibility as with socks (or hopefully some of the weird monkey feet shoes posted here).
 
A note about the sizes of those monkey shoes: a couple of you have mentioned them stopping at size 12, but the numbers on that size chart are not shoe sizes, but the length of your foot in inches. There will only be a size problem if your feet are longer than 12".
