Good day
I am part of a jazz trio outfit in South Africa. we have put out an album and have been doing various shows and festivals in our area. And getting some good feedback and reviews. But due to the nature and size of the jazz scene down here we don't really get to play as often as we like.
So we are thinking of trying some other countries and and regions for our own musical growth and exposure.
But we haven't got the foggiest clue as to how to go about it.
These are some of the questions we have.
1) which countries would be good to try get shows.
2)are there booking agents or companies we can contact who specialise in the jazz industry or should we contact clubs and venues directly.
3) what time of year is good to go over.
3) money is an issue of course we would need to some how cover our expenses, what can one expect to earn at clubs etc as unknowns.
We have no delusions of grandeur or expect to be headlining major festivals. We are just a few guys who want to play more and play for a wider audience so that we can grow as players and artists.
Any advice, suggestions or possible contacts would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
