    Aaaargh, Darkstrider,

    You're hurting my eyes again.
Don't stare directly at the Tribal Sun.:)
    Ooh, the beauty.
    (The beast plays it right?)

I searched around, and over here I can't get Trabens. :meh:
    Perhaps ordering directly from US.

Btw: I find that a strange string spacing (but huray for alliteration though).
There seems not much difference between the spacing at the head and at the bridge. ??
Or is that just an illusion.

Angle of the pic, it a standard jazz taper, real fast, thin, satin finished neck.
I actually did get that sent from the US, including shipping and taxes, was still under e500! I had to roll the fingerboard edges myself, took like five/ten miniutes.
Got it from The Music Farm, off of eBay, had it in 7 days too.

That is a very sweet price for such a thing.
I'm trying to think if I ever saw a more beautiful bass. But can't come up with one.

You make me GAS for Traben.

It looks like they put a Double Bass neck on a solid body. :)
    Very cool.

How does that thing sound anyway.
Close to an upright? Warm tones?

It's very versatile, with the bridge pickup, you can get agressive, with bright harmonic's, and boosting the mids, can make it harsh if you desire. Even a decent Jaco sound too.

With the neck pickup, and flats, it will sound deep and dark, and is possible to get a uprightish sound, I know on my fretted, cranking the mid's with the neck pickup will give a P-bass sound, I have no reason to doubt the fretless is the same, but I have never heard a fretless P.

There's a lot more varietys, mixing the pickups, and the eq, but these are the few I use the most.

It's a great-playing bass...the bridge is a bit on the corny-looking side, but I love the sound of this thing. It's unfortunate that they get pigeonholed as a "metal" bass (whatever the hell that is)...I find it to be quite versatile tonally.
