Trade value vs Sale Price

I noticed a bass recently with a $1250 is the sale price, but the ad says trade value is $1600.
Any insight to what justifies this thinking? Seems like trade value would be same as sale value? But maybe I'm missing something..

Cash and potential trade merchandise are two very different commodities. It's for the buyer or trader to determine which makes the most sense for them.

As with most transactions, everything is negotiable.
