Trading basses question, need help

what is the best way to trade a bass with someone in a different state, that will guarantee what i want is in the box and actually getting shipped to me, while reassuring them that they are getting the bass i promised to send them. dont know where to put this so i put it in bass for most exposure. thanks for the help ahead of time.

This may not be of much help, but I recently did a bass trade with a guy 3,000 miles away, and it was simply a matter of trust. Ideally, you and the person you're trading with both have good reputations here, with perfect feedback from prior transactions. Get detailed photos of the bass you're trading for so there's no question about the condition of the instrument. Then, you just have to do the deal. In the trade I just made, we both got exactly what was promised.
Is it possible to get screwed on the deal? Sure it is, you never know with some people. But, if you're dealing with someone who's been a solid Talkbass citizen, it's not likely.
