transparent bass?

I´ve never seen anything like that particular bass on the video, but Sandberg makes transparent basses called "Plasmabass":

Doesn´t look all that transparent to me, except for the electronics box. I guess it´s just a (aluminium?) frame.

on ebay theres this company that make transparent basses. Theyre pretty cheap too. im just not sure about how they would sound..

+1 I remember the old Dan Armstrong (If I have that name correct) models from the 70's.... clear plexiglass with the slide in and out modular pickup... heavy as iron and IMO sounded like dog

The Ampeg site has the Dan Armstrong guitar. It's clear plexiglass. I don't see anything about them doing a bass though.

What would be really cool would be a bass with transparent neck aswell. Maybe something else than plexi on the fretboard, but seethrough.

Tetsu's ESP endorsement is sick he gets like 3 cool basses a year... shame that there r only 3 tones in tetsus performances the zon legacy, ESP buzz (sadowsky like) and the other ESPs (EMG..)

I have one of the transparent GRAND brand 5 strings that I purchased on ebay. All in all the bass is good. I had one pickup that was marginal and would keep dropping out. I replaced both of them with Bartolinis and it has been a great bass since. They are a bit heavy, but pretty well balanced and pretty cool.
