I had a Traynor 115 combo I bought at Morrell's in Kingsport TN around 1985. That was the last truly portable bass I owned, would like to have it back now.

I had one of these back in the early 70's. It was louder than hell and had a really nice touch of grind. I had to get rid of it because of power tube issues. I presently have a brand new yba200.YBA-3 modded (6550s)

How do you like the YBA200 compared to your old Traynor? I'm thinking on getting one if it's close to the sound of my YBA-1.
I've had a yba 200 for a little over 2 years now and it still sounds great through my goliath jr and son of bertha.
Well, technically speaking it's Yorkville, but I'm running an XS400 1x15" combo and it takes more abuse than an S&M lover. Mmmmm yeah.
Just got a Dr. Bass 1x15 (4 ohm) to go with my XS400 head. Sounds great in the house. Can't wait to gig it.
My first good amp was a YBA-3 head that I got in '74, then a few years later I got a '60 YT-15 cabinet that had SRO drivers in it; I later replaced them with EVM-15Ls. Both are long gone

Now I have two YS-15 cabinets from the '60s loaded with Eminence Delta Pros

! I use them singly or together with either my Markbass LM II or WW Super amp.I was playing my Traynor head a few minutes ago, and damn, this is a LOUD 50 watts. It can certainly shake things. Can't wait to get the 100 watt version, I'm starting to think it should be enough for stage volume.
I have found that for some reason I get more clean volume out of the higher gain (bottom) input. Don't know why but it works for me.

i've owned two yba 1 bass master heads at one time, my first bass rig with a vt-15
super twin 15 cab. probably late 60's, early 70's vintage as it has no silver bindings
on either head or cab. one day i'll get some pic's up.....way technically challenged ;0)

It can get pretty loud (the YBA-1A). I use an 810 cab, and it works beautifully. I usually run it with it distorting a little bit, but it can get loud while still being clean. I don't think i'll ever need to upgrade my head just for needing more clean volume, the 90 watts it puts out does the job for me.
