Traynor YBA 200 experience?

I'm looking into a Traynor YBA 200 head, wondering if anyone here has experience with it. Of the reviews I've read, it seems that there may be a problem with it really performing at high volumes, which worries me for actually playing.

Any inputs greatly appreciated,
Jacob

It want's efficientcab's with very tight bass is my experience. I'm just onto my second YBA-200 (as of yesterday). First time around I was pretty sure it wouldn't hang volume wise with the cab's I was playing through. The YBA can be overbearingly brite as well.

This time around I'm using it with 2 very efficient 1x15 Bag End cab's without tweeters. It is easily medium room volume there and the tight bass of hte Bag's really compliments the looser low end of the YBA. Seem's like a good match to me.

It is definately not as powerful as say my GK 1001 RB II...

I'll have that rig at the Portland metro GTG next weekend so you can hop a plane out :D or maybe float a question looking for an un-biased review in the Portland GTG thread afterwards.
Some heads - like the GK - just seem to work with whatever cab it is connected to. Not the case with the Traynor you have to make a more thoughtful pairing.

I just got my yba 200 delivered yesterday. I came home from work and found that UPS had left it on top of garbage can behind my house while it was raining (rather than on the enclosed porch or out front or covered covered patio out back right next to the garbage can). The box was falling apart from the rain but the amp was fine. I haven't has a chance to gig it yet, but from the hours I played with it today, I'm pretty pleased.

This is one of the new versions without self-biasing and it came with KT88 tubes. I hooked it up to my trace elliot 1x15 and fender 4x10 and was impressed in both cases. I've read a lot of complaints about the preamp being too bright, but I was able to get a lot of different tones from my passive jazz bass. I'm accustomed to a passive tone stack on both old fender tube amps and my Sovtek head, though.
