treated like a rock star by Sadowsky Guitars

I recently got a wild hair to transfer a set of Sadowsky flatwound strings from one of my P-Basses to another and the ball end of the E string broke off as I was bringing it up to pitch. I'd gotten good use out of the string set on the original bass for 2+ years so it's not like they were glaringly defective or anything. I don't think I did anything wrong in the re-stringing, but it certainly is a possibility. Anyway, I emailed Roger @ Sadowsky Guitars in the hope that I could buy just an E string and he had one of his guys, Peter, hook me up with a replacement. They got it out to me ASAP (even though there was no emergency) and wouldn't take my money (even though I let them know that it was a used set that had seen plenty of use and I was perfectly happy to pay for the string and shipping). Anyway, I'm just a weekend warrior, bar band bass player and have only bought pickups and strings from them over the years, yet I was treated like a rock star endorser by them. No doubt about it … Sadowsky Guitars is a world class operation.

BTW … if you like flatwound strings and have never tried Roger's offerings, you owe it to yourself to splurge on a set as they're about as good as it gets, IMHO.

I'm in over 20 years with Sadowsky. My testimony is that I'm not exactly kind to any of my basses, but I haven't really needed much in the way of CS at all because the basses are built like tanks to start and nothing goes wrong with them. I've needed odds and ends maybe three times and always got quick, courteous, and knowledgable help delivered with genuine concern right away, above and beyond normal expectations.

Roger has said on occasion that he follows the example of L.L. Bean for comprehensive customer service and willingness to stand behind products sold. From what I understand, that's a class A model, but I don't know for sure because I can't stand camping, duck hunting boots, or monogrammed canvas bags! :roflmao:
