tremolo pedal question

its probably a simple answer but how can i keep my tremolo pedal (in this case a line 6 tap tremolo) in time with the band? i think ive bought the tap tremolo thinking i could tap the tremolo in time with the band rather than actually tapping the tempo.... HELP!

Just like you said, tap the tempo button in time with the tempo the band is playing. The band will need to keep perfect time.

A more complicated way would be to use a click track with a MIDI clock. Grab a trem with MIDI sync and everything stays in time as long as the drummer/band can play with a click.

so even when i change the speed of the tempo i will still be in time with the band?

With a midi clock? The trem will stay in time with the BPM set by the clock. If you program in a tempo change in the click track it will follow it.

Having band play with a click track isn't as easy as it sounds. Unless you've all practiced with a metronome it's going to be hard.

Having a band play with a click track so time based effects stay in time with the band isn't for the faint of hearted.

You could get a tremolo that syncs to audio clicks.
I know of one of these, the discontinued goatkeeper.
Sorry, this probably doesn't seem helpful, but there has to be more than one tremolo that does this.
Does the empress tremolo2 have this capability? I feel like it does.
There are lots of ways to convert various signal to other mediums tap to midi, audio to cv, cv to midi; but no matter what there has to be some kind of source that's keeping a beat. For instance a four on the floor bass drum signal can be run into the audio sync. Or do what I did and give your drummer a tap tempo box and put that responsibility on him. Then you have someone to blame.
